CafeAWAI・カフェAWAI

One of Fudai Way Project's first initiatives was creating CafeAWAI. We renovated a former izakaiya that closed during the height of the COVID pandemic, which was difficult for a small fishing village already lacking restaurants and other establishments, and converted it into a community cafe.

AWAI means between and we wanted to create a space that would facilitate connections between local villagers and visitors, whether they come from other parts of Japan or other countries. We want CafeAWAI to be a space for bonds to flourish and grow between many people, cultures and communities.
